Anti-Idling Bike Rally
What: A gathering of elementary and middle school children who want to get outside, ride their bikes, and play fun games that have environmentally friendly messages
When: Sunday June 10th from 10:30am to 11:30am (this is the real date and time, I promise)
Where: Ephraim Curtis Middle School
Want to treat your kids to an afternoon of fun and games? The Anti-Idling Bike Rally will include activities such as bike decorating, relay races, and even a scavenger hunt, all with the underlying message about living green and eco-friendly. Cate Dill, the physical education teacher at Curtis who biked, hiked, rollerbladed, and snowshoed across the country last year, will also lead activities at the rally, reinforcing the idea that healthy and green living can go hand-in-hand. The event is open to all kids in elementary and middle school (age 5-14), and they do not have to be affiliated with Boy or Girl Scouts to participate. The event is completely free and will be run by experience high school babysitters, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and LS Environmental Club members. All participants are expected to bring their bikes, wear helmets, and have an adult present at the event.
